Research & Education
Learning that grows with the community.
At CKCHC, we believe that sharing knowledge makes our whole community stronger. Students, health workers, and neighbors learn together — because real education happens when everyone is included.
Our Commitment
A clinic that teaches as it heals.
At Cascadia-Kigatto Community Health Clinic, we believe that learning and sharing knowledge will help our whole community grow stronger. When we open, our clinic will be a place where local people, students, and health workers learn together to improve health for everyone.
Education Programs
Hands-on learning in a real community.
We will welcome learners who want to understand community health in a genuine, hands-on way. At CKCHC, students and trainees will be able to engage directly with the work of the clinic.
We will support nursing students, public health students, and other trainees who want to learn in a respectful, community-centered environment.
Research at CKCHC
With the community, not on it.
Our research will be simple, practical, and focused on improving daily life. We will work with the community to understand the health challenges that matter most to families in Kigatto.
Maternal & Child Health
We will track outcomes for mothers and newborns to improve the safety and quality of care before, during, and after delivery.
Vaccination & Prevention
We will work to understand barriers to vaccination and disease prevention so our outreach can reach every child and family in the catchment area.
Malaria & Common Illnesses
We will study patterns of malaria, respiratory illness, and waterborne disease to guide treatment and prevention at the community level.
Nutrition & Healthy Living
We will work with families to understand food security, child nutrition, and the everyday habits that protect long-term health.
Community Health Worker Impact
We will measure the reach and outcomes of our CHW program — the stories, the numbers, and the lives changed by care at the doorstep.
Ethics and Respect
Trust will guide everything we do.
CKCHC will follow Uganda's national guidelines for research. Before any study begins, we will hold ourselves to a clear standard of community respect.
- Community members will understand the purpose of every study
- Participation will always be voluntary — no pressure, no obligation
- All personal information will be kept private and secure
- Approval will be obtained from recognized ethics bodies before any work begins
Partnerships & Collaboration
Better together.
We welcome partnerships with organizations that share our belief in community-centered care. Together, we will create learning opportunities and improve health in Kigatto and beyond.
Our Vision
A bridge between local wisdom and modern health education.
We aim to become a center where local knowledge and modern health education meet — creating a strong foundation for future health workers and healthier communities for generations to come.
